SERVER RULES Community Respect Your interactions with others should at all times be respectful and should not reflect on the player of the character outside of the server. There is a no-tolerance policy for any kind of harassment or verbal attacks within any capacity outside of roleplay. The use of derogatory terms is not permitted. (this includes racial and homophobic slurs) General You must be 16 years or older. You must have a working (and good quality) microphone. Your character must have a realistic name. It must not be: Play on words to mean something inappropriate or childish. Duplicate names/Characters with the same name/surname. (this includes different variants of spelling. Example: John Citizen & John Citizen.) Your character should not have the name of a notable figure/celebrity. Advertisement of other communities within any capacity of our servers (in-game, Discord, forums) is not permitted. The entire event server is a safe city. This means no violence or criminal activity can occur that is unrelated to the event. Breaking Character/Out of Character You must remain in character at all times. If an issue occurs, you must roleplay the situation out. You can report an issue to management after the scenario. Do not use in-character terms or slang to refer to anything that exists outside of the game universe. (incl. ‘Gods/Government’ / ‘in my eyes/brain/head’ / ‘getting a vacation’) Do not inform players if they are breaking server rules in-game. This includes using in-character terms. Do not use OOC chat to rant, mention in-character details or to flame a specific person. OOC chat is only to be used for game mechanic issues Deathmatching Attacking/killing another player without any roleplay/initiation leading up to it. Killing on sight is not allowed. Using your vehicle as a weapon to run over people without reason or ram at excessive speeds. Gunplay Your character should exhaust all possible options before using a weapon. This means using your gun to end a scenario should never be your first response. Any kind of behavior or roleplay that specifically revolves around constant use of a weapon in every situation without attempts to roleplay the situation without violence. Clothes available at the clothing store are not owned by anyone. Shooting someone because of the color of their clothes, cars, masks, hats, or any other vehicle or article of clothing. Metagaming The use or relaying of information which was gained illegitimately and not learned by your character in-game. This includes gaining information from Twitch Chats, or Discord. Your characters have no knowledge of each other, they cannot have a relationship. This includes referring to another one of your characters as your ‘cousin’ Your characters should not be in the same friend group/gang or family as each other. This eliminates two characters pushing for the same goal. You are not allowed to watch any stream whilst on the same server as the streamer. You are not allowed to be in any third party communication with others when on the same server. (this includes discord calls, Teamspeak channels, facetime) You should not use the F6 button unless you are reporting a rule break or admitting someone to hospital Failure to Roleplay/Unrealistic Roleplay You must roleplay with emergency services. This means you must try and contact medical help of some sort when incapacitated or injured. You should not walk past medical staff at a hospital to check yourself in. Failing to roleplay or choosing to leave your computer during roleplay at any time is prohibited. Disconnecting from the server to avoid roleplay will result in a ban. In this event of your game crashing, please return to the same server as soon as possible. Taking a local flight to hospital whilst emergency services are enroute or on scene falls under the same category. You should not hide your friend from emergency services so they can take local flight. This includes threatening or disrupting emergency services with the sole intent for your friend to take a local flight. You must roleplay your injuries. This means if you’ve been riddled with bullets or fell off a building and broken your legs. You should make attempts to roleplay out the damage to your character. Swapping or retrieving vehicles from a garage or impound whilst in an active chase. You are not allowed to use fake hostages. You are not permitted to enter the military base. Offensive Roleplay You are not permitted to roleplay sexual acts, detailed acts of torture or dismemberment, cannibalism, or other extremely morbid activities without the explicit consent of all participants involved. This roleplay must take place in private. Roleplay which involves committing suicide or self harm is not tolerated under any circumstances. You are not allowed to roleplay acts of terrorism/bomb threats. New Life Rule (NLR) If you are downed and respawn (via local flight) at the hospital your character forgets the immediate events leading up to being downed in the current scenario. There is no way for your character to remember who, why or how they were hospitalized. You cannot re-initiate, get revenge or retaliate in any way if you take a local flight. Exploits/Circumventing Mechanics You are not permitted to use any sort of macro, script or software to automate any kind of gameplay. You must report any bug or issue with a game mechanic; if caught with modded/bugged items, money or weapons that you’ve kept for your own benefit as opposed to reporting it to staff, you will be removed from the community. If it doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t. No Value Roleplay You must value your character’s life. You cannot be fearless in the face of imminent danger or severe harm to your character. Your life is more important than your possessions. Criminal Activity Groups or gangs are limited to 5 people at one time. (This includes drivers, backup, lookouts or anyone that is involved with the crime.) This extends to any kind of gang-truce or agreement between two groups. Two gangs working towards the same means count as one group. In our community restricted servers only; groups or gangs may have up to 8 people during bank robberies (not trucks), jailbreaks and drug smuggling only. (This includes drivers, backup, lookouts or anyone that is involved with the crime.) Do not call services (tows, taxi, etc) to rob, kidnap or ambush them. Cop baiting is not allowed. This includes: Repetitively committing crimes in front of police to bait reactions. You cannot rob more than $50,000 in cash or possessions. (This does not include robbing someone for keys to their vehicle) There are no limits in regards to robbing guns, drugs or illegal items off players. You cannot scam for more than $50,000 in cash or possessions (including illegal items) You should have a justified reason to kidnap or hold-up a police officer. This should not be done spontaneously; abuse of this could result in removal from our community. Hostages cannot be used for jailbreaks, bank trucks or release of someone in custody. You are not allowed to attack on-duty medical staff or paramedics Safe zones A safe zone is any hospital, police station, clothing store, public garage, barber shop or repair shops (whilst inside the menu). No violent crime can occur in these zones unless a scenario you are a part of has led there. If you are being chased, you cannot drive into a safe zone for protection. Simeon's & DMV should be treated as neutral grounds. Any excessive/repeated amounts of crime or harassment will be handled. You can read this Discord message for more info. You can not attempt to get someone released from custody whilst at a hospital or police station. Power gaming/Griefing Forceful roleplay that does not give the other player a chance to roleplay their own response. Do not camp drug locations or spawn camp teleport points such as opening fire on people as they spawn into or exit an interior. No griefing, griefing roleplay includes: Robbing someone then killing them. Constantly robbing or attacking the same person. Randomly punching players over and over again. Loud, disruptive noises being played through your microphone (parties/music should occur in private) Any kind of roleplay that is done intentionally to annoy players. While being pursued by police you can not use a Los Santos Customs to repair your vehicle. As police, you may not rejoin a pursuit after repairing your vehicle at a Los Santos Customs or police department.

So there's a whole forum section dedicated to dev updates. Looks like it hasn't been used in a long time, though. I think the management team should start using it again! IMO transparency from management makes for a happier community. I understand that you can't make everyone happy, but it's always nice to know what's coming up down the road! The owners and devs here have always been so secretive and held every project so close to the chest. Not everything has to be a surprise reveal! It's nice for the community to have things to look forward to! Not just "we're working on something big..." We hear that all the time, and frankly it get's kind of old. Talk to us, communicate, and show us what kind of cool stuff you guys are doing. We know you're putting in the work, just give us a sneak peak behind the curtain once in a while. I'm not saying "tell us every little thing you are working on!" But maybe you could just kind of give us the broad strokes. The general idea of things that are being looked at, and tweaked. They aren't open for discussion. I know for me, and the group of people that I tend to play games with, we really appreciate seeing that kind of thing from the communities we are in, and the development teams that manage them. It makes us feel more involved in the process and actually part of the community to know what's coming up.

So one of my characters has been looking to start some side hustles. To do that I've been doing some "market research" in character, and doing all of the available jobs at the job center with my friends. It's been a blast to go back and do some of these jobs that I haven't interacted with in a long time (some of them for years). In doing so I've realized how far behind the economy ALL of the legal jobs are. A lot of these jobs are actually a ton of fun, and offer really cool RP but pay so bad that they barely cover the cost of gas needed to complete the job. If you break down mid mission and have to call a tow truck, you are definitely losing money. When compared to the jobs that are outliers, such as mining and fruit picking, it makes you wonder why anyone would ever do them. I GET the RP value of them. I'm not dismissing that. I'm just saying that the majority of these jobs need a pay bump. Most of them, even if the pay was increased by a factor of 10, would still BARELY be competitive with mining/fruit picking. Mining is worth the time because the materials are sold to players and used to make items that are sold to players. That makes this job scale with the economy. The fruit picking job was added recently, so it seems to have been balanced for the current economy. Here is a screenshot of the average income that was made during a lumber run. If you had literally nothing in your inventory you would average less than $7,500 per run. If Everything went exceptionally well you could probably complete 3 runs in an hour for a grand total of $22,500. TLDR; Old jobs need their pay bumped up, because they are really cool and offer awesome RP opportunities and I'd love to see more people do them!

I cannot thank Crunch, the staff team and everyone enough for the 4+ years I've given to this community. 4ish years ago I joined this server as a brand new player brand new to roleplay not knowing anything at all. Some of you already know this as I've talked about this before. The main reason why I joined Bigcity RP was because it was a public server and I wanted to learn the basics and everything there was about RP before trying to apply for NoPixel. I knew I wanted to be a cop. But I knew I needed to learn a lot first. I had watched streamers for months and hoped one day I would join them. Something about bigcity snuck me in quick and didn't let me go. And I didn't want to leave. I started my career in FDNY with Destiny Charms, because I had medical knowledge and I knew it would help me get started. I made my way all the way up to chief in a few months where I lead the department 75 medics strong. This was amazing. The relationship between FD and PD was stronger than ever. I thought that was my hardest goodbye. Then I moved into DoC for a few months. Where Christina Ortega started her line. DoC was fun while it lasted but it was always so hard to be the babysitters of angry criminals who are mad at the cops and decided to use us as punching bags. I nearly perma'd Ortega here when she had her neck snapped by the notorious Namine. Then came the PD. I joined the PD after many bribes and askings of my friends in command. I quickly made my way through the cadet phase and into ESU. ESU was home I made my way up to supervisor and command. Then back down to patrol officer and into detective unit. Then back into supervisor and back to command to where we are now. I have met and trained countless people throughout the almost 3 years I've been in PD alone. I've made and lost friends, companions and coworkers. Some I still talk to every day. Others have moved on and I barely talk to anymore. I joined the staff team in 2020 where I met some even more amazing people. I got to help the community in a stronger way. I learned all the dealings with behind the scenes and helped work on some new things for the community as well as some sneak peeks before they came out. We worked on everything you could think of. Some didnt work out but some things did!. The amount of dedication and determination that these people had for this community was insane. I got to talk to a lot of different players throughout the time and I always made sure to talk to them as people and make sure that I was fair with everything I did or anything I handled. I even made sure to train the new admins coming in behind me to be the same way. And here's the sad part. I've stayed with this community and this server for so long. Putting so much of my effort and love into this for years. Getting screamed at by banned players, targeted, ddosed, threatened for my safety etc.. the list goes on. These are all the downfalls of being staff. You will get this anywhere. Feeling like you aren't heard. Feeling like you are helpless and feeling like nobody cares. I want to thank you all for an amazing time here. And I wish everyone the best of luck where they so chose to go. I wish the best to the devs and the team for Liberty City and West Coast. I wish the best for the community and hope a lot do return and BigCity comes back better than ever. And I'll get to look back and smile at something I got to be a small part of. East Coast is dying, if not already dead. West Coast needs to be what we were told it was going to be. Whitelist. Lock it down, make it whitelist, open to public, at max for two days. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what is added to East Coast if West Coast is open for the majority of the week. There needs to be a balance between attention to East and West otherwise this happens and everyone goes to the other. We don't have the community numbers anymore to have two servers open. The fact we've gone from 7 32 servers with massive queues to one 85 server struggling to reach double digits really shows our numbers are down. And now we have a "brand new" server with loads of stuff that anyone can get into, East is going to keep struggling. I enjoy West Coast don't get me wrong, but East Coast is my roots, and there are many of us that don't want to leave it behind. But it's getting difficult not to. Please do what's best and make East Coast great again. Don't rob us of our 5 years of character building, relationships, stories and careers.

I have been in for 9's for a while now, that is all I am going to say about that, I am just using this as a point to say I have seen what the current prison is like, and theres barely anything to do. Besides trash, a broken water pipe, food, and weights, you are just stuck in a science fiction movie-level maximum security prison. There's practically no way for one to get out, nowhere to go, and you are just stuck in a broken waiting and looting cycle. The prisoners who are in there for short times use it as a period to just look around for weapons parts, and the others just sit there and stare at a wall or they just leave and do it some other time. Lets bring back the old prison, the one with a boiler room, showers, and even solitary. That would make the place so much more lively, in the laundry room prisoners with longer sentences were able to change into proper prison attire (if they had a tie or other bizarre clothing items), you were able to plot escapes, build gangs, learn who the actually bad prisoners were through solitary. It was a whole different system inside the city that provided its own rp. Now, its purgatory. People don't even try to do a fraction of the rp because their sentences are too light and 9's don't exist anymore. The amount of time it takes to craft a shank in prison is broken as well, so unless you have 9's, you would need a team of people to even have a chance at creating one. I am not joking when I say I have spent almost half a dozen 2-3 hour showers just to barely scrape by a toothbrush, and even if you are lucky enough to build a shank, you will lose it if you fly out. So you have to run around with the materials just all jangling around in your pockets. People can parkour outside of the prison's main yard, but if they get to close to the outside gate that's when they get shot. there are just too many faults in the current prison system, its like a magical force instead of a realistic institution. Every minute you spend in prison you risk just dying because either local inmates are trying to gang up on you (which I actually find fun but can find annoying as well), or just dying of dehydration because for some reason you get a shot-sized water cup along with your burger. Just do something to liven up the conditions in prison, - Instead of weapons parts make it a higher chance to get drugs inside of prison, because that actually makes sense. - Build a crafting station so people can make shanks, cheap newspaper body armor, and even weirder stuff like prison wine or spice. - Make a space where prisoners can change their clothes, so crews can form inside of prison (shirt tucked, just tank top, shirt mask) - And finally, let them smoke. It's insane that cigarettes are banned in a place where they could be made currency for RP inside of prison. I love this community, and even in its darkest spaces I believe there should be some kind of life to it. It is a tear in my soul that I just go in there to check my phone for my lawyers messages and then go right to sleep after, when I know in the past on another 9's arrest I was so caught up in the actual rp there that getting out was a secondary priority. There was gang violence, media would come to do reports, and the guards were either super kind and helpful or the cruelest person you met that day, and if you were the roughest one in the block you would be up in solitary having rumors and legends spread about you. It was as real towards prison rp that we have ever been, and I don't know why it changed.

Well I do agree to an extent. We have enough staff to cover a public server, with the launch of 2.0 around the corner, I would like to open Brooklyn to the public, get rid of queens and continue to maintain and develop Brooklyn as well as 2.0. Also we will look to upvote Brooklyn on the fiveM server list and anyone with a CFX account can do this to help the population. Most of the heavily populated servers upvote the server list with 1k, 2k, 3k upvotes and brings them to the top of the server list. This obviously has good and bad things, like lots of exposure and new players, but lots are not really here to RP. So lots of work for staff to do. But as I said I think this will be the plan moving forward.

Since my last suggestion thread did pretty good here is another suggestion I have. Increase the pay for ALL legal jobs, this includes PD, FD, DOC, Fishing, Hunting, Lumberjack, Mining, Wine Making, Beer Making, and more basically ever single job center job and white listed job. This would not only promote people to stop sitting at legion but maybe stop people from just shooting eachother all day and go do something fun and profitable, aswell as give people who dont do crime a better way of making money since currently its very slow and time consuming to make money without doing crime or having a whitelist job. Another suggestion for specifically fishing is maybe adding the chance to catch a pistol, gun parts, repair kits stuff that was dumped in the ocean or fell off a boat. Potentially also a leveling system where the more and longer the fish the better you get at fishing the faster you catch fish the easier it is to reel them in and the better stuff you catch. I could see people having fishing competitions for who can catch the most fish in a certain amount of time or by weight etc.

I have a few suggestions regarding existing vehicles in the city. 1) Please replace the current model for the Challenger Hellcat. The current model has no customization while this new model has tons of customization options for people to play around with. A very large portion of the community has a special love for SRT vehicles and they would appreciate this change. https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/2015-dodge-challenger-add-on-stock-shaker-hellcat 2) I've never heard anyone compliment the appearance of the current Subaru WRX STI Widebody model. Everyone would be happy to see this change. I personally suggested replacing that model for a model of a regular Subaru WRX STI without the widebody additions. https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/subaru-wrx-sti-2017-replace 3) The handling and top speed of the McLaren 764LT doesn't match the $120,000,000 price tag. The car feels very heavy and slides out randomly during turns. Maybe consider giving the 765LT the same handling and suspension as the P1. Additionally, the speeds of the 765LT are disappointing considering the price. Without a tune, the LT has a top speed of about 140 (and 160 with a tune). This is extremely average. I recommend increasing the top speed by 15 or 25 MPH.

Hello everyone I want to suggest replacing BRABUS D 35 Adventure with BRABUS G800. In-game name: 2020 Brabus Adventure D35 Price: 60m. Shop loc: New vehicles #92/159 The main issues with a current vehicle: There is a bug with front windows it is just not there(invisible) once you take it out of a garage, it happens from time to time. To fix that you need a mechanic(repair), regular repair shop(Bennys, etc.) wont fix it. Tint issues. It can be either 0% or 100% No option to remove roof rack, tools, rear spare wheel, etc. Small turn radius(even 6x6 has a better turn radius). Also, I feel like BRABUS D 35 Adventure is made for off-road exclusively, so there is no "city" version of a G-wagon and I think we need a regular version in a city. So from the day 1 when west opened myself and about 20 others held it down for month’s alone and was some of the best role play I have ever been in. Spent 3 years in east and never had anything close to what the west offers. It’s kinda like driving that same old 2009 car when everyone else is driving 2023 no one wants to keep driving like that is how I compare it. I tried to go back to the east coast the 2 hours I was there I was taken down by a hacker, robbed for no reason and ran over for no reason. It was vr chat there was 42 players and I could not find one if I did they was all sitting at dmv shooting the crap for hours and not actually building role play. I’m not saying east is bad I just think that there is way more actual role play being pumped out on the other side and that’s what I’m here to do and others I can talk to my friends any time but when we in city I wanna role play. Crunch said it best tho let’s be honest it was slowly dying on it’s on so why wait and loose a entire community we all love when there was a way to keep this community going we all want to be apart idc how it’s done just as long as it’s alive and there is actually rp

I havent been able to test the car that much myself but from my experience the Mercedez AMG C32 is just way to fast right now. with it being tuned i believe it goes way over 220mph (correct me if im wrong) and i've witnessed to many crims just abuse its speed. EXAMPLE send it up the highway after a 1 minute interaction on a traffic stop. and if you're not in a speed unit, you stand no chance. Im open for discussions. but please have this vehicle looked at. its simply just owerpowered.

I recently began thinking about how new civilians continuously fly into the city, and immediately go to purchase a gun to then stir up the pot with people who have been here much longer. I'd like to propose the idea of limiting newer folk to being able to buy a gun three (3) days after they first fly into Brooklyn. The three days aligns with how civilians needed to play three days in Queens before being given access to Brooklyn. This ultimately allows for them to familiarize themselves with the rules, how the city operates, and to actually speak to people rather then just approaching them and shooting them because they can. I recently heard that there was someone that recently flew in for the first time, and all they had in their pockets upon arrest was a Pistol and 992 Pistol ammo lol..

So this is a quick suggestion on the cop RP side of things. I see the new update with calls. I think it would bring alot more RP if automatic shots fired and normal shots fired were the same call. It would make alot more since if the primary officer was the one to call on radio weather or not it was auto shots fired. Having 3-4 cops turn up on a scene with ars already drawn is a tad overkill. I feel like if all shots fired calls were the same call, It would keep officers and crims more on their toes. Because the police are gonna be opening pandoras box on every shooting scene.

please send all the clothes you can to both coasts. i really dont care if i gotta remake every outfit. its WORTH the hassle.

City Council Meeting #1 Summary Last night, the City Council met with staff and owners for the first time to discuss issues that the community has brought to us over the past couple of weeks. Below are SOME of the topics discussed. This is not a full list of what was discussed. Please remember that the members of the City Council are not staff, and cannot handle things like ban appeals, lost items, or technical issues with the server. We are here to represent the community for topics that directly affect us all as players, outside of those things just listed. The notes from some of the things discussed in this meeting should give everyone a better idea of what the city council is for, and what our goal is going forward. If you have an issue or suggestion that you think will affect the entire community, please don’t hesitate to bring it to the council members. 1.0 vs 2.0 We discussed how the community is receiving the news of 2.0 and what the general opinions are on it. We made sure to point out that not everyone wants to make the move to 2.0 and that some people are happy staying in Brooklyn as their “home”. The biggest concern raised was to make sure that people that are in Brooklyn aren’t made to feel “abandoned” by staff and the development team. Understandably 2.0 is the future of the server for many, and being so new requires much more of the development team’s time. We just want to make sure those of us that are staying in Brooklyn aren’t forgotten about. PDM Stock The stock system in PDM was discussed in great detail. Many of the issues the council has heard from many members of the community revolved around the stock system in PDM. Everything from scalpers, to people camping at PDM. We understand why these things are happening, and brought the community’s concerns to the staff. When new content comes out, people are going to be attracted to it. New content excites people and raises the server population. The current stock system is creating more problems than it can possibly solve. Everyone is ready for a change. This is how we think the PDM stock issue can be solved. To begin, we believe that the quickest and most efficient way to dissolve these issues and promote creative roleplay is by removing the PDM stock completely. If everyone is driving the same car around for a week straight, that is a small problem compared to the multiple problems that the PDM stock has created. We offered the owners some solutions that would help the issues that revolved around the stock system. It was implemented for a reason, and without bringing back the issues that were had without the stock system, we attempted to find a middle ground that would make everyone happy. Some of the things suggested to improve the roleplay regarding the release of new cars were: Removal of the stock system altogether. When a new car is going to be released, announce it to the community, and have an auction for the first few cars released. Having stock slowly increase over time, eventually becoming unlimited. More comments and suggestions were made. After much discussion, we believe that a combination of some of these ideas will be the best solution to offer more robust roleplay to the entire community. Drug Related Roleplay The community doesn’t feel that drugs are worth it anymore. The value of the drugs has not been increased to be proportionate with the current economy. If the economy can’t be brought into check, the drugs currently available to sell need to be worth more. Dirty money doesn't have many uses. The removal of most activities at the casino made cleaning dirty money a daunting task. Drugs should provide exciting and deep roleplay for law enforcement agencies, criminal organizations, and even your regular citizens who want to buy drugs for fun. The council offered a variety of solutions to the owners and staff to correct the above issues that were brought to us by the community. Some of the things suggested were: A possible increase in the value of drugs when selling to locals, to make it proportionate with the current economy. A possible change in the current locations/methods used in the acquisition of drugs. NEW drugs should be introduced and made accessible by the entire criminal community. More law enforcement involvement in the drug-related roleplay. Selling drugs is no fun without the risk of getting caught. Again these aren’t all the issues/suggestions that were discussed. Hello everyone Im want to suggest to have a transport vehicle and it commes in a nice little and cute pakage called the "mule" My sugestion is that this vehicle would be able to cary 500 or 1000 pounds of cargo And wil be able to be purchased for the store in sandy . ( preferebly for a pricepiont between 1 million and 10 million ) But ! Its a small comercial vehicle and thus elligeble to be searched at any time by any nypd officer IRL both in usa and europe any truck can be pulled over for no reason and searched to check if they are transporting acording to their cargo manifest . in the usa they usualy do this at weigh in stations . and in europe usualy around borders or police checkpoints . and from experience in germany/netherlands/france they just do it everywhere Why / Why the mule ? -The mule because its been driven localy allot and its already ingame , its also nice and small and realy well balanced in speed ontop of that it can be towed by our current towtruck ( me and James brody have testest this ) - Its handy having a truck that holds that much and can blend in when u carying a truckload of drugs . but it should be risky as IRL its risky moving that much drugs in a truck as wel . - It should solve the problem of people having these police vehicles for their trunk space and help mechanics/ other business related ventures with storage problems sorry for my grammer/ spelling / sentence structure but this is the best i can do

I'm going to wax poetic on this topic because I see it coming up a lot in the Discord chat and frankly, I'm tired of hearing it. No names will be mentioned but if you feel attacked or targeted, eat it and shut it. I don't want to hear it in my DMs. You want to discuss, let's discuss. 1. Very few of you, even those who have "done time" in the DoJ, know just how much work being a good lawyer is. Let me stress that, a GOOD lawyer. I was just okay and it was like a full time job with the DMs, people constantly pinging me, IN A FUCKING DM, at 4 AM, expecting me to put on my Constitution cloak, fly in, and save them from their own stupid actions. I say this because, there hasn't been many GOOD attorneys in the city. Those of you who claim to have experience with the DoJ, you applied, passed the BAR, were an attorney for a week or two, made a shitload of cash on retainers, then dipped when you lost a case or didn't understand the process, instead of ASKING for help. Why does everyone quit? Because this is work. It takes effort to actually roleplay an attorney on either side of the court room effectively. And the few, very few of us who did so, found it rewarding and hung around. 2. No, you did not get 100 months for speeding, you're full of shit. I love when I see this in general because I know right off, there's a laundry list of other crap attached to that ticket that the complainer left out, in an attempt to make a half assed plea for mercy to a moderator to step in, because you cannot face the actions of your consequences. In character actions equal in character consequences. 3. Have you tried being a better criminal? Have you tried not posting on Twitter about robbing a bank, which bank, and who you're doing it with? Have you tried not carrying an automatic in legion or maze? Or how about...you know, instead of throwing down with the police over 100,000 in a store robbery, you take the L and not open fire on the responding officers? Better yet, plead the fucking fifth. I was an attorney for quite a long time and I have met, two, maybe three criminals who actually are GOOD at being a criminal. Not good at crime but at just not being caught. And when caught, shut up, don't say anything. The police are talking to you for a reason, to get evidence and pin more crimes on you. I'd say a good, seven out of ten times while in city, when called to the cells as an attorney, the client ALREADY admitted to everything and only lawyered up after the officer told them their charges. 4. When there was no DoJ, everyone complained. The old penal code, everyone complained. But the neat trick here is, the new penal code is based on the old one. The times weren't even modified that much. The charges were narrowed down and made more specific so that they COULDN'T be stacked as hard as they were. Crimes against public servants had stricter punishments, the officers just didn't pursue them often, in my opinion, because doing the math of 1.5 times the base fines and times wasn't easy to do because while processing seven people in MRPD, then six more got downed in Maze, and they had to rush out to deal with that. Regardless, it seems like everyone is going to complain. Except nobody wants to do it in the right way. "It's not worth the effort to make a concentrated effort to try and better a community I participate in, instead I'll just whine with everyone cheering me on." - General feel of the diatribes I've seen about the DoJ. Everyone knows how to do it better apparently but there's only a handful of us actually doing it and honestly, when I see so many people bitching, I wonder why I fucking bother. You want change? Make it happen. 5. Prison time, I tend to agree with most. They are excessive when you work a full time job, have kids, a family, etc and other obligations. But here's the thing...as mentioned above, sentences get reduced, easily. I've had 600 month sentence and it was chopped in half for holding the door for a DoC officer. I'm not saying the times aren't excessive, I agree, they can be but when you have people in prison, it can actually be fun RP. If you choose instead to leave FiveM running and watch Netflix, then that's on you. For the record, I argued against times being so harsh. HOWEVER, given how you, yes you, and me, the community in general, inflated the economy over the years, we can't do stricter monetary sentences which mean anything to someone with 250 Mil in the bank and 500 mil in storage. Because averagegamerwhojustjoined with 600,000 in his pocket, would be in debt for eternity if we based the fines on how much actual cash moves through the city. 6. 9s. They also suck. There are things which people don't consider, which I'll point out below. Can't get a lawyer? Represent yourself. We have an entire section in our discord just for people self representing. Reach out to a judge or anyone with a DoJ tag in Discord and we can get it sorted for you. Bail. This is reviewed on a case by case basis. Basically if you're not a shitlord, you'll likely get approved for bail and be on probation until your court date. Plea deals. Every attorney wants these and when they don't get them, they throw a fit and quit. Why are they denied? Again, because of the player. There's a record of how the character acts in custody, there's a file of recent arrests, including recent 9s arrests. Get the 9s every six - eight weeks? Guess what, you're not getting a plea deal. Court. Go to court, take it to court. Insist on court. I've done this many many times, as an attorney while I was available and other parties weren't, I told the DoJ members simply, "Hey, if we're not having court for this guy by this date, then he needs to be released." Even if you're found guilty, you'll likely get a lesser sentence than a plea deal and all within the same time frame. The flip side, if court can't be scheduled, then it's only reasonable that a plea deal be offered. Hell, we even stopped with probation and misdemeanor offenses returning someone back to the 9s, to stop the 9s to probation back to 9s cycle that was going on. And many of those instances where a person went back in? Was their own doing because they decided to cop bait, or not stop, or to stab a local or open carry. It was very rare where an officer just did a random search, found something illegal, and kicked someone back to the 9s. Not saying it didn't happen but for how many people I represented, it was exceedingly rare that someone who was thrown back in for breaking probation was innocent or just a bystander. To sum up this longwinded reply; if you can do it better, go for it. DoJ is hiring.

You see alot of this stuff gets overlooked and lost in the shuffle, its not that we dont want to make these changes, but they get overlooked with so many other issues to address. Hi People, Would it be possible for all police vehicle to be relevant, There's a couple of vehicle lacking, they don't need to all go 180mph ofcourse, but the Crown vic has a top speed of 125, compared to some suv's having top speed of 160. Even copying the handling file of one of the other vehicles to the crown vic would be fine, crown vic is life. Same some of the undercover vehicles, If they'd be a little faster they could be used in pursuits, because currently they cant keep up with the slowest civilian vehicle, even not upgraded. I would love to make some sort of a roadmap for sure, because exactly as you said "Transparency makes a happier community" But to be completely honest, we sometimes start projects and it becomes many more issues then before, and we wouldnt want to keep teasing some things that we are working on that might not ever make it to live. Like for example, I could tell you that the devs have been working on an entirely new inventory system for about 2 months now, but then I'd blue balls you and say it doesnt work and it wont be coming. And its also hard to give updates on something when someones on a break for a few weeks. Then its "Well nothing is getting done! you promised us!" Some of the things that get implemented, is something we find last minute, test for a day or two, and go live with it. Some things take a few weeks, some a few months. I would rather keep it the way it is, and provide surprises with updates then let people down because something we wanted to bring in, didnt work.

It can already be hard for departments to recruit new members. Besides that, as @ChocoboJay said, some people do not want to get on at certain times due to the lack of engagement you get with people. I've been a Mech, and people just want a quick repair. Not you sitting here explaining what parts of your car have been damaged. I've been a Cop, people are going to get in to a chase and a huge shootout cause you pulled them over for speeding and cuss you out. I'm EMS. People are shot 20 times and say "oh I dont feel anything just give me an icepack". Sometimes you're not in the mood to deal with that. I love being EMS but I am not going to force people in the department, or even myself, to get on a schedule. It's a game, not a second job. Do what you enjoy, when you are going to enjoy it.

most of us here are adults, with real life jobs, and kids, and other responsibilities, so of course we arent going to be on in the middle of the week, we get on when we can, sometimes I'm on at 8am, sometimes 8pm, our departments are not "lacking". I always see at least 3 cops on throughout the week. this is an EST / EU heavy server. a lot of the activity is 8pm EST - 1am EST. No ems on? value your life more Not enough cops? do some legal work this isnt a cops vs robbers server. this isnt nopixel where there are 3 or 4 different departments and like 200 cops and EMS. Limiting peoples RP isnt the answer to this. I know for the longest while I was EMS I wouldn't get on solely for the fact that nobody liked to medrp, they wanted the bandaid and to get back out to shoot everyone they saw. a lot of the egangsters in this community also treat cops like shit. I barely have motivation to get on DOC when I know its just people kicking a barrel to a fence and climbing onto the roof. give the departments a reason to want to get on, and they will.

We already have rules that people can't call tow trucks, ems, cops, taxis, etc and rob them. We should make it to where people can't rob miners as they are breaking down the pay dirt. Our server has already nerfed the fuck out of that job by not letting us collect as much as we want without a cooldown. Sucks to wait 20 minutes for pay dirt to fill up, then another 20 minutes to turn it into materials and then some lazy ass without any rp whatsoever will come over and take your materials. Should be a server rule against it. Until something like that is added, I'm just going to Queens and doing it. But sucks that I have to avoid RP because people do shit like this.

You cant build a server period without players. You certainly cant entice people to want to get WL when 10 people are playing in it. We tried forcing people to play in East for 5 months just going off applications of people with 30 days or more in East. Almost all the apps we got from players that either left years ago or months ago felt that was more of a punishment then anything, due to them leaving this community do to the state of East. Gun play consistently, same players in and out of bans, lack of RP from some and other issues forced alot of players to leave. Asking them to go back into East for 30 days was just silly. Even during closed times most of these people were not active or even apart of Brooklyn, still East is down bad. Opening WL isnt something that is forever, we are building a player base of new players daily, players that never been to east at all, players that wouldnt go play in East to begin with as they came from communities and servers that are competitive to the West. Instead of people posting pictures of Brooklyn from 2020, why not get in game? No one is going to join a server with no one in it, regardless if thats east or west. Stop posting about how it was and get in game so others can see and they will start to follow. You cant RP by yourself, same reason we were forced to open west to get new players to try it out. So sorry you feel this way, we are not forcing you to play in the West, no one can make you do something you dont want to. Gather the people posting pictures and videos and get them in game. We have updated and have been adding more stuff, most all these people havent even seen yet. Also, we have had a total of 7 bans over 45 days in west, no serious issues and the RP has been extremely good. Maybe its luck, maybe people just want something different. But being open these few days is a chance to give players and opportunity to try it out and apps have increased. These are not East coast players and these are players we would have never attracted before. East dying but not as fast is a crazy statement. So we wait till its totally dead before doing something different? No sorry that wouldnt work at all. For me its not about east or west, its BCRP the community im trying to keep alive.

From a realism POV, officers responding to shots fired are generally going to know the general type of weapon being used. On top of that, I can already see this resulting in SO many use of force issues with smaller automatics like APs and Tecs. Automatic shots fired are also much higher priority as it is always (for now) illegal firearms that can do much more damage. I think we'd get much less automatics off the streets, and much more officers go down out of not knowing which gun to use if we combined the two calls

Would like to add obviously 1:1 speed isnt possible but the pagani zonda is top speed of 260 and 0-60 in like 2.8 not saying it needs to go 260 but for the car to be allowed to be competitive with other cars around that price range would be amazing as the i8 is 15 mil less but can hit like 180-190 when fully tuned. Would just like to see a little extra speed added to it nothing insane but make it more up to par with the other cars instead of topping out at that 140 mark.

Drug RP was so fun back in the day and i would love to have it reintroduced/refreshed

Replacing perfect car models for broken ones I don't know why, but this has happened with quite a few cars. When replacing car models, you took the one out that was completely fine and brought in a broken one. I will be addressing the M6 now as an example which was the nicest model we had out of all cars in the server and brought in garbage. Maybe you had a reason to take the old one out, maybe it was causing issues in the background, and that's fine, but I don't see a reason why you would bring this in:

I've noticed the same thing with my Ferrari 488, the previous model looked and handled so much better than the current one. What we have right now is so ugly with the chrome parts that were added for no reason. Also, why bring in off road rock crawling vehicles that can't climb a small incline let alone a mountain?

So.. a police perspective here (if you want to call it that). Maybe it's just because I'm not aggressive when it comes to charges because I'm just here to have fun, but I almost never give people more than 30 minutes in prison. The last time I did was because they violated their probation and I had no choice (though I did reduce their time by way over half). Why? Because it's not fun to stare at walls or play trash collecting simulator. Department of Corrections has been more prevalent recently which has been nice, but it's been my experience that they're constantly going back and forth to pickup more prisoners so thus wouldn't be there to RP with the inmates anyway. But maybe that's just due to the time that I play which is not prime time. From an in-character perspective as a police officer, yes all crime is bad and people need to be punished accordingly. But looking at it out of character, police rely on criminal activity to for their RP otherwise they'd be bored. So to me, why would I put someone, who has given my character roleplay and something to do, in jail for prolonged periods of time when that means that they cannot give me roleplay? I will agree that serious crime should meet serious time, but as was mention previously, the server is nowhere near serious enough to justify it. It is really hard to justify this line of thinking because all "first degree assault of a Public Servant" entails is them laying in the hospital for 200 seconds and then suddenly they are good as new and ready to get into their next shootout (the exact same argument applies to criminals). When the value of life and value of injuries is properly roleplayed on BOTH sides, then we can talk about "HUGE life choices" being relevant to prison time. But for now we might as well regard guns as paintball guns that don't really cause risk of life threatening injury. But that is not to be misconstrued as a bad thing. BigCity is action-based RP and there's nothing wrong with that; my point is just that "serious RP" shouldn't be used to try and justify exacerbated prison times.

I'd love to have a discussion about this in an open forum where more people can chime in. I've spoken with quite a few members of the community about this recently, as it's a hot topic of late. This might be a bit of a long post, so buckle up. First let me start by saying you make some great points! The jail times given in 2 of your 3 examples were grossly incorrect though. I've given screenshots of the appropriate charges with the time/fine below: 35 Months, not 75 months. This one is even stacked, and still less time than the example... The third one you were pretty much spot on. OK! Now that quote/picture time is done... What did we learn from this? Quite a few things actually! First it's important to remember that these charges are all before any time is reduced due to officer discretion or lawyers are involved (I know, I know, we are very short on lawyers. Believe me it's not for lack of trying). Second we see that that simple act of running from the cops isn't really getting you much jail time at all. That's important to remember. Chases are fun! They are the essence of what a lot of the excitement is about when it comes to cop RP. It's what makes crim RP fun too! The chase, and the escape! Simply running from the cops and getting caught doing so, doesn't really get you much time in the slammer. So what does? Simply put? Shooting cops. 1st Degree Assault of a Public Servant can stack up VERY quickly, and enough of them will get you a TON of probation. I want you to really think about this though. You are roleplaying an actual life here. A REAL HUMAN LIFE. You are making the choice to not only do crime, but to attempt to become a cop-killer. That's a HUGE life choice, and should come with HUGE consequences. I don't think anyone from the DOJ or server management has forgotten that this is a video game, and that we are all here to have fun. Not at all. I DO however think that sometimes people forget that we are supposed to be role playing a real life. That our decisions are supposed to have long-term consequences for our characters. Now on to the prison sentences... I have done some research on my criminal character and some number crunching while doing jail time. After serving my fair share of jail sentences I've come up with some rough numbers. Check it out: If you are in prison and there's no DOC around (I hear that complaint a lot, so for this discussion I'll just assume that they aren't around when you're in jail) you can reduce your time by doing various mini-games and activities within Rikers. I don't want to go into too much detail here, for fear of being called out for "meta-gaming", but I can tell you that if done properly and efficiently you can reduce your sentence using these activities by up to 40-45%! That 230 month sentence just became as low as 127 months! Is it going to be the most fun and interactive time that you've spent in the server? Yeah, probably not. I can tell you that on my criminal character, I actually enjoy going to prison even when I'm the only one there. I usually end up recouping my fines and even making money by the time I come out. It's all about perspective and attitude. All this being said, I'm not opposed to new ideas at all. I've been on both sides of the penal code, both new and old. I've spoken with crims and lawyers, cops and judges about the jail times. One of the judges and I were talking the other day about a maximum jail time (there used to be one), what it would be, and the pros/cons of the idea. I'd love to hear more from everyone about this!

What is the purpose of DMV? You can say it adds rp to selling cars or that it tracks which cars and who they are sold by but there is very little to no rp with DMV workers its "i need a pink slip" both people hand them id and some cash and that's it, as well as I'm sure the server previously had /pinkslip logs of what cars and who they are being sold from and to. My suggestion to solve this problem is hire more active DMV workers, make title transfers purchasable 1 or 2 a day, or get rid of this new title transfer system completely, the new system causes prices to be ridiculous cars are already out of stock constantly and the lack of DMV/title transfers causes people to pay ridiculous prices for cars.

Surely this has already been discussed somewhere, and I'm new around here so forgive me if I'm overstepping. When I first joined, I believe the max slots for Brooklyn was 150, and then The Bronx became available and slots on both were dropped to 75. Now as I type this I've been waiting in a queue for 42 minutes (and still 5 positions to go, unless more prio-users pop into the line). It seems like this could be somewhat mitigated without even increasing the maximum player slots by simply making properties between the different cities unique. For example, if you own a house in Brooklyn, you won't own that house in The Bronx unless you go specifically buy it there too. Same for businesses. People would have to invest in the city they want to play in more. They would be less likely to join whichever is the most populated server since their properties might be elsewhere. I'm sure there's some balance problems I'm not thinking of but I think for the most part it would offer a far more unique experience between cities.

I was talking about this tonight. One of the BIG drawbacks, is the PD stacking into one server. Due to the limitations on the crime activities that can be done, a lot of people feel like there isn't much excitement if there are no police around. Perhaps if a borough has over a certain amount of people in it, the PD could have a policy of making sure to split the department? I truly think this would help. I had brought this up to Donny Tusami when he was chief, and we made an active effort to split the PD up between the cities, and it worked VERY well to reduce the queues and keep both cities full. It only lasted a week or so before PD started stacking one server again though, as it wasn't something that was enforced. Just my $0.02 on something that could help alleviate the issue as well.

In some ways, I support this! I do not think food should be completely removed from convenience stores and be reserved for restaurants and bars. Ideally, we'd want to have an ecosystem in the city that supports having businesses open most of the time but I think we are still working to get to that point. I'd suggest removing burgers and tacos from convenience stores and replacing them with snack food that does not significantly refill your hunger. Realistically if you were to buy food from a gas station you'd be grabbing a bag of chips, maybe a candy bar. Maybe we could do something similar with our convenience stores. Give restaurants food items that can only be bought at restaurants, have these food items not only reflect that establishment's "menu" but have it replenish hunger and thrust more significantly than snack foods. That would give people an incentive to buy food from restaurants while not leaving them sh*t out of luck if no restaurants are open. We have to keep in mind not everyone can be in the city when a restaurant is open because of life and, unfortunately, time zones. I am MST and three hours behind most people in the city. There are people with much bigger differences. Small alternatives are still important, I think you can have those alternatives while supporting the growth of restaurants in the city. I think there are people in the city that want the restaurant experience, I see more and more business making their own menus and using RP to make it immersive. More food options would really help with that immersive experience! I know as the owner of Tequi-La-La I'd love to have cocktails in the city but for right now we are doing what we can with what we have!

New to the community.. a few months into the city.. I just got situated with a home in Paleto. I love it out there, but agree I wish there was enough reason to stay in Paleto. I catch myself spending all my time in the city and just driving back home to fly out. I would like to meet you bro when I fly in, if you're open to it.

The Vanetti Family A revamp of the previous document posted here by Konnor Vanetti -History- The Vanetti family was a low ranking branch family to a much larger organization in Italy, they were foot soldiers often sent to do the dirty work that the rest of the family either deemed to be work unfit for them or simply to risky to get involved with. The family for generations not only shed the blood of others in service to the cause but their own as well, as the vicious cycle continued for years the Don of the family decided it had been enough and pleaded for the release of his family or at the minimum a better place in the hierarchy stating all he and his father and his father before him had accomplished for the group. When his request was not only denied but belittled by his superior he had the gentleman killed, forcing himself his wife and his two sons at the time into fleeing from the country. They found themselves in upstate New York at first doing odd jobs to get by and eventually working a mechanic shop until his final three sons were born forcing him back into an old life for the sake of money in order to provide for the family he so dearly cherished. But this time he was going to be the one in charge, he established his own territory and supply lines and fought tooth and nail to make his presence known in upstate New York taking in other rouge Italians and pushing out gang bangers. His operation became fairly sizeable for a small town. He had dreams to expand but eventually age caught up to him and he passed down his business to his eldest son Rex Vanetti who along with his four brothers set their sights on the hustle and bustle of the city. After earning enough money from their operation in the upstate of New York they moved into the city establishing connections and new routes wherever they could attempting to launder money through the operation of a hotel chain and security services at clubs, they began moving narcotics and weapons and soon enough they grew comfortable in their lives. However their father's health took a sudden nosedive and he passed away rather suddenly from a stroke, causing Rex to spiral into grief and in his state of mourning he found himself unable to properly run the family. He instead passed down control to the youngest of the Vanetti brothers Vincent and he soon left New York. After Vincent became the Don of the family he began making changes attempting to reach a wider market, making his resources useful to other groups and families helping facilitate their needs establishing a vast network of friendly faces. He used his security contracting to get his roots in with Judges and other renowned figures of the community and with his uncle Silvio he had stakes in the gambling market of the casino. There wasn't a place the Vanetti's didn't try to get into, until eventually there was infighting between different families and after a long drawn out street war as well as a pending investigation it seemed the Vanetti family all but disappeared leaving only the vague memory of their existence. ---- This Family is a long standing one within the community and has been through many changes, however they remain a presence in the background even when absent. The name Vanetti still means something within the streets of New York and carries a certain level of respect alongside it. Their reputation proceeds itself and they have found their little part of New York within "Little Italy" which stretches from Adams Apple to Strawberry where they tend to do most of their business out of their gas station "Vanetti's on Strawberry". This is a Family that has stood the test of time and will always maintain a presence in New York City. I will have to disagree, even if you are in a speed unit or a helicopter you still stand no chance. I personally think any vehicle shouldn't be able go above 180mph. Or PD should get helicopters that will be able to keep up. Another addition that I feel like would make it more balanced with vehicles and encourage people to just drive better instead of highway blasting an addition of a PD place that would be able to be deployed above highways and main roads outside of the city in order to keep up with vehicles that outperform PD ground units.

I mean you cant really compare a 2011 (newest possible) Crown Vic to a 2020+ SUV not sure exactly which SUV having a top speed of 160 you were referencing but here are some of the suvs in city that I could think of along with their real top speed. Lamborghini Urus - 195 MPH Jeep Trackhawk - 180 MPH BMW X7 - 155 MPH (stock variant of the x7) Porsche Cayenne - 152 MPH (stock variant of the cayenne) A CVPI's top speed is 110 MPH. (Crown Victoria Police Interceptor aka the most supped up police version of the Vic) As for the undercover cars, there is speed unit, and marked units that should be doing pursuits. you don't need an undercover minivan or a comet being in a police chase they are supposed to be used for police investigations.

My Suggestion revamp restaurants, and remove burgers / tacos from stores Why; With the current meta being buying 100 burgers and water and then never stepping foot in a restaurant, civilian RP is taking a hit, Burgershot is suffering because nobody hunts, we have 2 active restaurants that I don't think anyone actually buys from because whats the point if I can just go not talk to anyone and stock up on 100 burgers for cheaper. I have personal reasons for this suggestion as well, as I myself have been working to open my own restaurant. to bring more opportunity to the few here who actually want civilian RP. and have a place for social interaction outside of a car show, nightclub, or event in general. The server is very cop vs crim heavy meta wise, so I think giving more social gathering places to make connections in whatever direction you want to move, and opening up more opportunities in the civilian direction, OTHER THAN basking on the rocks at legion like lizards where 90% of the time there ends up being a shootout, is important. as it'll balance out the RP.

Born and raised in Kazakhstan, Ivan went through the cold war working in a Kalashnikov AK-47 factory, wasting the best years of his life on a dead-end job. After years of being a lower class citizen, taking abuse from his wife in an unhappy marriage and colleagues at work he has finally had enough and decided to abandon his wife and two daughters and move to America in search of a better life. Upon arriving in America Ivan expects a lot more opportunities to come to him, unlike in the old country. Sadly he is a gullible old fool so there is a high possibility he would be taken advantage of by people who may have bad intentions. He is 57 years old, has fully gray hair, is very stubborn, and needs to work on his English. Due to not fully understanding the language he may come into comical and sometimes awkward situations which he will have to find a way out of. His total lack of fashion sense and weird humor makes him seem like a clown to others but in truth, he is very accepting of people. What is most important to him is the safety of the people he cares about as well as knowing he is surrounded by people he can trust. As he grew up in a very poor and simple family and country he is not the type of person to care much about material things. Despite not being a materialistic person he still wishes to succeed in these later stages of his life and show everyone back home that he is not the failure everyone thought of him back then. After spending many months in New York, Ivan managed to start a family, adopting a beautiful daughter and many other sons. Things were looking great for him up until he ran into some trouble with the government and ended up having to leave town for a while... After years in exile he has decided to come back and see how much of New York has changed from when he was last there, hoping that his family is still around and will accept him back.
