To add to the painkillers idea you could instead of giving a HP boost use it as a temporary armour source (which maybe or may not be removed after a 1-2 mins) and add a sort of a meth effect maybe as they would likely be very strong meds that you can't really just shake off, providing in essence a legal meth boost that anyone can use.

In my own honest opinion, I really dont believe adding something to stop bleeding is going to affect EMS RP as much as other members of the FD fear. Having something to stop bleeding but not give you health is great. yea we might see some decrease if you combine the bandages and medkits, however at that point, it can be used to drain some pockets and allow FD to avoid some of the "RP" people that don't want to RP.

I understand both sides of the argument, but I'd rather we try new things and see what happens rather than stay complacent.

I'd actually rather see a law of diminishing returns. Bandaids work for a while before they get dirty and need to be changed. then if you get too many GSWs, there's no amount of bandages that can keep the blood in you :). same for painkillers. Though IDK how hard that would be to implement.

i love the idea to be honest it creates opportunity for both crims and cops in shot outs because lets be honest here all you have to do is shoot them 2 or 3 times and wait for them to bleed out its kinda dumb and not fun.I never want to take away rp from ems there great but more medical options would be  W for the whole server..pssst plus if we really wanted to make painkillers illegal and a crafting recipe lol

    I'm always up for changes.

But a medkit / bandaid / field dressing after a stab or gunshot wound. Would still be a temporary fix. If you get shot or stabbed you need medical. End of story.

    Realistically:

Never have I seen a person walk around for a day with a gunshot wound or deep stabwound. Because they had a field dressing.

    Gameplay wise:

I understand the frustration and irritation of going down after a gun fight. And that it takes time away from your RP.

But at same time.... Then don't get in that gunfight.

Every action has its reaction. And taking the bleeding out completely will render FDNY near useless.

Imagine a community that actually wants to rp out their injuries. over 80% of FDNY calls. The person that's injured does not care. And thinks we are just annoying. They go with the flow. And just say the yes and no where they have to. To get thru it ASAP. and go back to shooting eachother.

As soon as the community RP their injuries properly. Maybe there's a option of looking into changing things.

    For now.

Keep the regular medkits for those who want it.

Adding a second item as a field dressing to stop bleeding yes but also for a max amount of time. Maybe a bit longer then currently.

And only optainable by buying it from a member of FDNY

Short opinion: How about people start RP'ing their injuries first and then we can include more RP mechanics that'll help them when it comes to medical.

People will probably use it to stop bleeding, continue to shoot till they go down completely and then tell us "Oh my pain is pretty mild" while they look like Swiss Cheese.

Even tho I like the idea, people do not RP medical enough for it to work. Their gonna be shot in the head, patch it up and act all fine even tho realistically they should've at least been unconscious, if not dead.

I dont agree with this simply due to the fact that the bleeding system we have at the moment is beyond unrealistic you can be wearing full deployment gear or riot gear and still start to fully bleed out from getting shot in the hand or arm once. Bandages and stuff like that although it comes within medical RP I dont think thats what should be prioritized here in my opinion. Although I believe people could do better in roleplaying injuries in general, I think that this idea is too add more realism rather than promote a certain side of RP. As it stands for deployments and such we are left with medkits which just doesnt hit the same as a field dressing or other similar tools.

If this is put into effect I believe it needs to be modified so it doesnt become a replacement for calling EMS, but I believe if this were to be put into effect it would benefit a lot of RP . As it stands the bleeding mech we have just isnt suitable for certain things and I think a change is needed as soon as possible.

Lastly this isnt a hit at FD at all I love the work you do, I just personally think this subject applies to a lot more than one side of rp

Happy Holidays BigcityRP!   Absolutely 100% this was one of the key things about RP that made things fun I would always look to see how severe my injury was.  And let me tell you multiple times came from a vehicle lololol yep my seatbelt kept malfunctioning.  I could swore I actually made sure it was on but ya know in those high speed chases and then those locals...  Let me tell ya those locals on another level of aiding and abetting during those pursuits specially up in Pacific in the highway area...  YEP I would get tossed from my vehicle and then I would use the commands to see how bad my injury was I wouldnt say nothing bout that I would do the /injuries thing and see my injuries and that helped me understand how bad my injury was.  I wish that was more detailed or something tbh like maybe say if your leg got broken or fracture foot or broken arm or something ya know?  Cause I had to guess and like play out like if it said my head was hurt I would be knocked out and I would not I dont care how long it took I would make FDNY figure out how to make me wake up again.   LMFAOOO I think that got on their nerves sometimes ahaha!

Oooooooooooo and memories now is coming back to me the 1st thing I was at BigcityRP was FDNY.  That was a big issue with me Akira I think actually now that I think bout it.  I always would try to get others to roleplay out things even when they didnt want to roleplay but I just cant let someone get up from a gunfight and just not go to the hospital if they was hit..  Or get a vehicle accident and not go to the hospital.   They was I was as FDNY is if a person was knocked out on scene if they needed my assistance to help them up they going to the hospital because why I am no doctor.    And the thing is BigcityRP is a serious and strict RP server its RP and thats what ppl ya know thats what they should want to do.

I want to share this with you on this subject bout injury roleplay.  When I was a corporal at the time I actually acted on this and was almost fired from being a officer.   I had this huge issue with ppl just not roleplaying or at least trying too...  No one is a absolutely best roleplayer but anyone can at least think and try to create rp.  Anyways though there was this officer this guy was no rookie and he made an arrest on a person well apparently this person that the officer arrested tried to roleplay that their breathing stopped and the officer didnt stop to RP at all.   1.  When any person is arrested they are the responsibility of the officer and their health though we are not medics they are too 100% give aid when it comes to medical or at least contact FDNY immediately.   Damn that upset me so much right there I got offline and myself went into the PD part of discord and chewed out the person that did that.   And ya know those officers now I think bout it FDNY would hold training for PD and some officers would show up but I think it should have been a requirement a mandatory thing where you get checked off on as part of training by a FDNY officer or FTO.   Roleplaying arrests or roleplaying medical it should always be a thing imo.    A person should never get up after getting hit by a car.  Even a local...  A local hits me unlucky although I can still walk...  Ya know how many times they called on the radio for A-22 or One Bravo 19 Borlez and Borlez was knocked out by a local.  And the last I was in PD we actually started to to RP out severe injuries and take medical leave and be off duty for a couple days or something.  Had to come back talk to a shrink get cleared to go back on duty lmfaooo.

Can we please get some more attention to this and not let this idea die besides first aid kits how about pain killers or a better version of a first aid kit that needs crafted but please let’s look at this besides new cars this would be a great update to the mechs of the body and way we function and give more options as role play could keep going besides one hit you bleed out done game over see you in 45 mins at the least

Not only would the addition of painkillers or some kind of enhanced med kit help balance out combat, it could provide serious medical rp with doctors illegally selling painkillers (along with numerous other roleplay opportunities) At this point it just seems like common sense to extended the versatility of medical roleplay in the server, already it seems clunky and outdated which feels unrealistic enough. I think that the introduction of other medicines could allow for things such as prescriptions from doctors to patients (such as a cop being prescribed pain meds after being in a shootout) Its all about adding layers of opportunity so that interaction becomes a necessary part of everyday play.
